I love Mottram Hall at any time of year, but it’s particularly gorgeous in the autumn. Fran & Christ had a crisp, clear day for their wedding, it felt more like a summer day! We’d planned all sorts of cool things for rain and low light. Spoiler alert: sparklers! It was fabulous to have such great weather during the day for the wedding photos.
Seriously, can you believe this photo was taken in October?
I’m skipping ahead a little though, so let us go back to the start! The day started with Fran and the girls getting ready at home. I love shooting bridal preparations, as it’s a great opportunity to get to know the bridesmaids. After arriving at the house, I just knew the rest of the day was going to be awesome.
After the wedding ceremony, there were a few quick group photos, followed by confetti. Guests then headed to Mottram Hall for the drinks reception.
Mottram Hall – Drinks Reception & Group Photos
One of the great things about Mottram Hall is, even if it’s really bright & harsh sunlight, there’s a great area of shade in the gardens. This means the venue can be in the backdrop and guests are not blinded by the sun.
Mottram Hall – St Andrews Suite
St Andrews suite was the location for the wedding breakfast, which was styled with white, gold and ivory colours with silver sequins table covers and candles in gorgeous decorative glass holders.
Bride & Groom Portraits After Sunset
Mottram Hall is lit up with purple lighting after the sun has set, so I thought this would be a great location for a bride and groom portrait with sparklers.
