Intimate Woodland Elopement in Ayrshire

Last updated:

The couple had travelled from Germany to Scotland for an intimate woodland elopement in the Ayrshire countryside.

Wedding Preparations

I was able to get a few candid photos of the couple getting ready before their wedding ceremony. There was plenty of space in the house, but I wanted to include the garden backdrop for the ring photos.

First Look

The couple had decided to have a ‘first look’ in the gardens of the villa they had booked for their elopement.

Wedding Ceremony

The couple had a lovely ceremony with personally written vows, followed by a Scottish tradition of a Quaich ceremony.

Couple Portraits

The gardens surrounding the villa were huge, so we focussed on the woodland areas as those were the couples favourite spaces. A venue visit would normally take place in advance, but with this couple being out of the UK, I met them instead a couple of days before the wedding day, so we’d had a chance to have a look around and choose couple portrait spots.

It started raining during the portraits, but I’d brought clear umbrellas for the couple, so we were able to continue with photos. The gardens were really gorgeous for portraits! We were lucky in that the trees provided good cover from the rain.
