This was my first time photographing a wedding at Maryhill Burgh Halls. All of my wedding photography packages include a venue visit though, so the couple and I had had a good look around the venue well in advance of the wedding day, and so had a plan for photos to use various different parts of the hall, as well as the canal side walkway close by.
On this wedding day, I was providing 4 hours of photography coverage from 4:30-8:30pm. The couple received 545 photos.
Wedding Ceremony
The main hall was used for the wedding ceremony. It’s perfect for a large wedding, and there was plenty of room for me to move around, even with lots of floral decor and a band set up at the front of the hall.
Couple Portraits
When the couple initially got in touch they explained that they really wanted to get some cute couple portraits at the nearby canal. They also really wanted to get a few photos with their wee dog, but did not want to have him there for the full day. We planned out a timeline and the couple arranged that their dog sitter would pop with the dog by for a quick photo.
Confetti and Group Photos
We’d decided to use the courtyard for group photos, as it would involve less walking about for guests. The confetti throw is a great way of getting everyone involved, ready for the group photos.
Evening Wedding Reception
There was still some light left for a dusk portrait, so we got a couple of these outside before I left the happy couple to enjoy the rest of their evening reception.
