Ayrshire Wedding Photography
Located just an hour from Glasgow, Ayrshire is a mostly rural area with gently sloping hills and over 100 miles of stunning coastline.
There are a number of wedding venues in Ayrshire to suit weddings of different sizes, but the coastline is open to everyone, and a great location for wedding portraits. I've put a few tips together to help you get the best out of your wedding day and wedding photos.
Hey! I'm Karen! I'm a professional wedding photographer based in Glasgow and love photographing weddings in Ayrshire. I specialise in natural wedding photography with unobtrusive coverage of relaxed and informal weddings. I team this documentary coverage (that includes plenty of candid shots) with as many group photos as you'd like with your friends and family, and a few creative portraits that will make the most of the light and the details of your chosen wedding venue. Every package includes a planning meeting and venue visit so that I can personalise your coverage to be the best fit for you and your unique wedding day.
3 Reasons to Choose Ayrshire for Your Wedding
The coastline! Whether your wedding venue is near the beach, or a short drive away, making use of the panoramic views is a great option for wedding portraits, creating wonderful memories of your special day as well as well as stunning photos.
There's a great selection of castle wedding venues to cater for weddings of different sizes, so whether you're having a small, intimate affair or a laving wedding day with lots of wedding guests, there will be a castle wedding venue to fit. And what can be more romantic than exchanging vows in a castle? Castles are typically the ideal location for spending your entire day in one place.
The scenery. There are some really pretty portrait locations that are only a short car journey from any of the venues, so having a short car trip to spend some time together on your way to get some stunning portraits can be a great option to consider when planning your wedding day.
Portrait Transport
If you decide to visit another location for couple portraits on your wedding day, you may need to arrange transport. I use my gorgeous black Mercedes C-Class for this purpose, so you can travel to and from portrait locations with your partner in comfort. My wedding photography insurance covers me transporting wedding couples to other photoshoot locations for this purpose, but your wedding photographers insurance policy may not cover it - so best to check this and put a plan in place in advance. For some locations where parking is tricky, professional transport or a guest driving their car can be more practical.
