One Devonshire Gardens is owned by Hotel Du Vin, a luxury boutique hotel company. The venue is a converted Victorian terrace on a lush tree lined street situated in Glasgow’s west end. If you’re looking for a luxurious space with exceptional service, this wedding venue is worth a look.
Townhouse Number 5, styled in timeless classic colours, can be hired out for exclusive use, and hold up to 80 daytime guests, and 120 evening reception guests. This stunning space features original fireplaces, beautiful bay windows that let in lots of natural light, an ornate wooden staircase and stained glass windows; a perfect backdrop for your wedding photos.

Hey! I'm Karen! I’m a professional wedding photographer based in the West End, a short (17 minute) walk from One Devonshire Gardens in Buckingham Terrace, and I’d love to photograph your wedding at this stunning and unique venue. I'm an experienced photographer, and have photographed over 500 weddings over the last 18 years. I have a selection of packages that are perfect for intimate weddings at small wedding venues in Glasgow like this one.
I photographed my first wedding here back in September 2020. It was a small, intimate wedding with close family and friends, and an outdoor ceremony using the gorgeous courtyard area at the back of the wedding venue. Perfect for saying your vows to each other in the Scottish sunshine! There's also space for an indoor wedding ceremony.
Hotel du Vin takes up the whole street, as the hotel stretches all 5 townhouses. This means the well kept grass area can be used for couple portraits with either greenery or the Hotel du Vin as a backdrop. There's lots of different options for portraits. This grass area was used in the couple photograph above. So, whilst you do have the option of heading to the nearby Botanic Gardens, the surrounding space is really colourful and picturesque for photographs.
Where to Have Group Photos?
The space outside out the front of the wedding venue provides a classic Victorian townhouse backdrop, and the stairs are perfect for small groups. If you choose to hire Townhouse Number 5, you’ll have access to the secret garden behind the property, and this will be a great backdrop to use for group and couple photos.
If you’d like to venture further afield for couple portraits, we could head to Great Western Terrace (featured in the portrait below) or the nearby Botanic Gardens. If you’d like photos here, remember to arrange a permit before the wedding day! This can be done directly via the Glasgow City Council website. The current cost is around £80. There’s a time limit of 45 minutes, but this is more than enough time for couple portraits.
