One of Scotlands four ancient universities, founded in 1451, the University of Glasgow is a great location for a wedding. Weddings take place in the university Memorial Chapel, which is a stunning space to exchange vows with your partner. Getting married at the university of Glasgow is not available to everyone though. The Quadrangle courtyard area and cloisters is a great space for candid photos after the wedding ceremony, group photos and portraits. The cloisters provides rain cover, and the quadrangle is pretty sheltered, which is ideal on a windy day. The space outside the University of Glasgow is quite compact, so it's possible to get a varied selection of backdrops without having to walk too far.

Being able to exchange vows in a historic 500+ year old building is not available to everyone, and with it's exclusivity, it will set your wedding day apart, offering a unique experience both for you both and your guests.
With plenty of space under the cloisters, both couple and guests have rain cover incase the weather is not favourable. The cloisters is such a unique and special space, using it for wedding photos isn't a compromise.
The location. With plenty of parking space for guests and suppliers, it's also centrally located and easy to get to another reception venue, should you be having the evening celebrations elsewhere.
With the location being adjacent to Kelvingrove Park, the University of Glasgow is well placed for park portraits with some gorgeous greenery. (Please be aware you would need to arrange a permit for wedding photography in Kelvingrove Park)
The variety. Within what is a fairly compact space, there are many options for photos that take in lots of the buildings fine details, whether that's the architecture, the lion and unicorn staircase, the stunning windows, or the views over Kelvingrove Park.
